Workshop 1 of Feature Launch 2021 takes off this week

MIDPOINT Feature Launch welcomes the creative teams of 9 selected projects and 3 script consultant trainees at the first workshop held April 17–22, 2021.

April 15, 2021 programs

However, it is not the first time the participants e-meet – they have already enjoyed the introductory kickoff session held in February and the trainees attended the preparatory seminar even prior to that.

The program will be filled with group works and individual consultations while it will also touch many relevant topics within several lectures – the head of studies Danijel Hocevar will discuss with attending producers the European Film Financing Sources as well as Industry Landscapes. Guest tutor Katarina Tomkova will then give a lecture Gift Service: How to “Sell” a Film Project?.

The participants will also get a unique chance to attend a masterclass by Joan Tewkesbury on The Writing Process of Nashville.

To make the program even more diverse, there are also two case studies of successful films and MIDPOINT Institute alumni scheduled.

Kosovar Academy Awards 2020 entry ZANA, a feature debut by Antoneta Kastrati (writer, director) and Casey Cooper Johnson (producer) is to be presented by both creators. ZANA is Feature Launch 2017 & Editing Room 2019 project graduate. More about the film & trailer here.

Looking for Venera premiered this year within IFF Rotterdam where it scooped the special jury award within the main Tiger competition. The development process as well as production and post-production will be discussed with the writer and director Norika Sefa (Feature Launch 2015 alumna) and producer Besnik Krapi. Check out more about the film here.
