Maria Reinup

Maria Reinup is an Estonian filmmaker. She graduated from Pelgulinna Art High School in Tallinn in 2007 and continued her studies in the University of Tartu. From 2009-2013, she studied at the Tallinn University's Baltic Film and Media School and took on Master's Degree Studies in Film Directing, which she quit halfway. In 2012-2018 she was the Artistic Director of Haapsalu Horror and Fantasy Festival. She served many years as a Senior Programmer for the only A-list film Festival in North-Europe, Black Nights Film Festival and in 2018-2019 she was the Artistic Director of "What the Fest!?" in New York.

Her short films have been to numerous film festivals around the world and won multiple awards. Over the recent years she has worked on various feature films, most notably as a Second Unit Director for Fox Searchlight film "Tolkien". Currently Maria is working on her first feature film.
