MIDPOINT's leading feature-length film program Feature Launch is designed for filmmakers working on their first and second films.
Selected writers, producers and directors will experience a year-long development platform, which takes off in January 2020 in Trieste and runs till January 2021.
Moreover, three script consultant trainees will complete the selected projects on their inspirational journey.

MIDPOINT is excited to continue the collaboration with the Trieste Film Festival, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and When East Meets West, to make another edition of Feature Launch possible.
The program starts in January 2020 in Trieste, Italy, during the Trieste Film Festival – Eastweek and When East Meets West Co-production Forum.
The second workshop will be organized in April in Slovakia and the third workshop with the presentation platform Works in Development – Feature Launch will take place at Karlovy Vary IFF in July 2020.
The producers of selected projects will then come back to Trieste in 2021 for the special follow-up networking event Feature Launch Spotlight, co-organized by When East Meets West.
The program will hand out the main financial KVIFF & MIDPOINT Development Award of 10.000 EUR for the best project within Eastern Promises Industry Days of Karlovy Vary IFF in July 2020.
MIDPOINT Feature Launch is realized with the support of Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the Czech Film Fund. It is presented in cooperation with Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, When East Meets West, Trieste Film Festival, the connecting cottbus, CineMart, Les Arcs Film Festival and the Audiovisual Producers' Association. MIDPOINT operates under the auspices of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
