Stefan Malesevic

Stefan Malesevic (1989) was born and raised in Belgrade. He studied at the PhD film.factory program in Sarajevo where he developed his feature projects under the mentorship of Bela Tarr. Stefan directed a number of short films, which were screened and awarded at international festivals before making his first feature-length doc – Gora. Gora screened at Visions du Reel, DokuFest (special jury mention), Beldocs (best film and best camera), Astra Film Sibiu and many more... His fiction feature debut, Mamonga, premiered in Karlovy Vary East of the West competition and went on to a number of other festivals like New Horizons in Wroclaw, Poland, Marrakech IFF, Montenegro FF in Herceg Novi, Golden Rose in Varna, Bulgaria... Stefan was a jury member at the Montenegro Film Festival 2017, Roshd Film Festival in Tehran 2018 and BelDocs Film Festival 2018. Stefan participated at IDFAcademy Summer School and IDFAcademy programs in 2017 and 2019. He is a member of the European Film Academy.
