Introducing the MIDPOINT Feature Launch 2026 Selection!
This year’s selected writers, directors, and producers will dive into an intensive development process starting in March 2026, refining their scripts and strengthening their projects with expert guidance. Alongside them, three script consultant trainees will join the program, gaining hands-on experience in story development.

Leading participants through this journey are experienced group leaders Anne Gensior, Ivo Trajkov, and Pavel Jech, with Gyula Gazdag mentoring the script consultant trainees. Producers will receive insights from mentor Danijel Hocevar, along with numerous guest tutors and industry professionals contributing throughout the program.
The program kicks off with a two-day Online Preparatory Seminar for Script Consultant Trainees, followed by the first residential workshop in Prague, Czech Republic (March 15-21). After online consultations, the second workshop will take place also in Prague (July 1-8), leading directly into the Works in Development – Feature Launch showcase at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
As part of KVIFF’s Eastern Promises Industry Days, one outstanding project will be awarded the KVIFF & MIDPOINT Development Award of €10,000.
Moreover, Feature Launch 2026 projects will be in the running for the Eurimages Co-production Development Award, which grants €20,000 to one outstanding project presented within KVIFF’s Eastern Promises Industry Days.
The program continues with a third residential workshop in partnership with Finále Plzeň Film Festival (September 21-27), focusing on final project development and market positioning.
Moreover, selected producers will be invited to Thessaloniki in November 2026 for the Company Time follow-up workshop. Organized in collaboration with the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and EAVE, this session is dedicated to supporting producers in company sustainability and long-term business strategy.
