Merja Ritola
Since 2000, Merja Ritola has worked on over 45 film and TV titles, serving as producer on more than 24 of them. Her credits include Iron Sky, Jade Warrior, and Man’s Job. She is an EAVE and EWA alumna and has worked as an independent producer since 2012 on short films, documentaries, and fiction features. In 2017, she joined Greenlit Productions, founded by Essi Haukkamaa-Judge, and became a member of the European Film Academy in 2024.
Ritola’s productions include the Jussi Award–winning documentary The Seamstress (dir. Ville Suhonen), Putting Lipstick on a Pig (dir. Johan Karrento), The Voice of Sokurov (dir. Leena Kilpeläinen), and the sci-fi feature Apeiron (dir. Maria Ruotsala). Recent work includes Maija Isola – Master of Colour and Form and international co-productions such as Deserted, The Other Side of the River, and A Wish Upon a Satellite. She is currently in post-production with Lex Julia, The Seal Mother, and The Days I Will Forget, and developing several fiction and documentary projects including Northern Lights, Propaganda Man and Elin Danielson-Gambogi – A Portrait of a Woman.
