MIDPOINT Alumni Making Waves This Fall

From festival premieres to new industry partnerships and awards, MIDPOINT alumni continue to make an impact across Europe’s film and television landscape. This season brings several inspiring achievements that highlight the ongoing success and creative reach of our community.

Feature Launch alumni at FilmFestival Cottbus

Feature Launch projects are set to take center stage at the upcoming FilmFestival Cottbus 2025. The Feature Launch 2020 project Ida, directed by Ester Ivakič and produced by Andraž Jerič (Temporama), will celebrate its world premiere at the festival. 

The Feature Launch 2019 Serbian project Rattlesnakes by Nikola Ljuka has been selected for the Works in Progress showcase, while the Polish Feature Launch 2025 project Radioamater will take part in the Connecting Cottbus CoCo Pitch program.

Series Launch success stories 

The Series Launch project 25 PERCENT by Mater Randar and Karolina Zalabakova  received the Best Pitch Award at the Young Horizons Industry event, recognising the project’s originality and strong presentation.


Smash Cut alumna awarded at Serial Killer 

Viviane Sade, alumna of the Smash Cut program, was awarded the Quick Killer Award at the Serial Killer Festival for the second season of her series Kalamja Blues, which won in the Best Short-Form Series category.

Alumni among Southeast Europe’s emerging voices

MIDPOINT alumnae Zeynep Coprulu and Kosara Mitic have been recognised by Screen Daily among “Five emerging filmmakers from Southeast Europe to watch”, highlighting their growing international visibility and promising careers. 

New partnership with Finnish Film Affair

MIDPOINT has launched a new collaboration with the Finnish Film Affair industry event. As part of this partnership, the MIDPOINT Consulting Award was presented to the feature film project Abbys, created by writer-director Aino Suni and producer Emilia Haukka. The partnership aims to further connect Nordic and Central European creative talent and promote story development across regions.
