Selected Projects for First MIDPOINT Intensive Ukraine in Lviv

We are thrilled to announce the first-ever edition of MIDPOINT Intensive Ukraine taking place directly in Ukraine. The four-day workshop will be held in Lviv from 25–28 November 2025 and will gather selected Ukrainian filmmaking teams developing their first or second feature fiction film projects.

November 05, 2025 programs

The initiative is designed as a concrete and strategic form of support for the Ukrainian film ecosystem — strengthening creative development structures locally, offering continuity of professional training and linking Ukrainian talents with international industry know-how.

Selected projects cover a compelling spectrum of genres — from psychological horror to fantasy drama — reflecting the rich artistic perspectives present in the contemporary Ukrainian cinematic landscape.

Participants will collaborate with seasoned international professionals:

Mentors 2025

  • Ivo Trajkov — script consultant

  • Simone Baumann — producer mentor

Throughout the workshop, teams will work intensively on script development and focus also on financing, co-production pathways, and international potential.

Organisers & partners

MIDPOINT Intensive Ukraine is jointly organised by:

  • MIDPOINT Institute (capacity-building platform for film and series development in Central and Eastern Europe)

  • House of Europe (funded by the European Union and implemented by Goethe-Institut — supporting collaboration between Ukrainian professionals and Europe)

  • Balcony 48 (Kyiv-based boutique production company founded in 2022 by Veronika Stepanchuk and Christina Tynkevych)
