Eszter Horváth is a Hungarian screenwriter. After graduating from the University of Theatre and Film Arts of Budapest, she worked as a writer for various television series and honed her craft as dramaturge in theatre productions. The first feature film script she wrote, Out, has been selected to participate in the Atelier program of Cannes Film Festival in 2015. Out had its premiere in the 2017 edition of the festival in the Un Certain Regard section. Her upcoming long feature, the dance sci-fi film Zenith, is in post-production. She is currently working on the drama The Art of Biting Your Tongue and a magical realist story based on Hungarian folk tales. Eszter lives in Amsterdam where she has been co-creating performative video installations. She is intrigued by the concept of transnational identities, longing and belonging.
