Petr Pylypcuk

Director, screenwriter, and graduate student of the Directing Department at FAMU, Petr comes from Žatec in North Bohemia. After graduating from secondary school, he lived in London for two years before being accepted to FAMU in 2018. He is the author of several short films and in his work, he is mainly interested in capturing real stories that delve into the complexities of the human condition. He is the author of the short film Eighth Day, which had its world premiere in the official selection of the La Cinef competition section at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, and was recently nominated for a Czech Lion award in the Best Short Film category and the Magnesia Prize in the Best Student Film category. In addition to working on the development of Eli and Them, he is currently developing a series for Czech Television. He is also the author of the screenplay for all of his projects.
