Maka Kukulava

Maka Kukulava is a Georgian screenwriter and playwright with an MA in Screenwriting from the Shota Rustaveli Theater and Film Georgia State University. In 2011 she received the literary award Gala for the best feature film screenplay of the year “Ada’s Kino“ (Ada’s Movie).

Over the years, Maka has collaborated with different magazines and newspapers as film and art critic and photographer. In 2011, she was the guest editor for the major Georgian film magazine Film Print. She has been invited as a jury member for film funding competitions at the Georgian National Film Center.

Apart from film and photography, her career also includes theater: her plays have been performed at the Royal District Theater in Tbilisi, Atoneli theater in Tbilisi and Kutaisi Lado Meskhishvili Professional State Drama Theater.

Currently She is the editor-in-chief of the magazine Interieri (Interior). Maka constantly collaborates with young, up and coming directors and writes and co-writes screenplays.
