JUSTINA JÜRGENSEN was born in Hamburg in 1996. She studied Directing at the University of Television and Film Munich, graduating in 2024. She speaks and writes in German, English and Swedish.

The series YOUTH (7x60min) about the famous German resistance fighters against the Nazis, the Scholl siblings, developed and written by Justina, is currently being financed (Studiocanal Series and Nordpolaris). Her latest short film IT WOULD BE A DIFFERENT SEA celebrated its world premiere at Berlinale 2024. Justina loves to tell political, queer-feminist stories and is very interested in the way that history is always shaping the present, using the queer filmmaking traditions of contextualizing and mix of materials also in the way she writes for the screen. The feature film GIRLS IN UNIFORM is her debut feature film as a writer-director. She is represented by the German agency Above The Line.
