Francesco Manzato (1996) holds a degree in Modern Literature and lives in Milan.
Since 2020, he has co-directed two self-produced documentaries with a strong political focus: Uragano Negli Occhi, on the hardcore punk scene, and Brucia Ancora Dentro, on Milan’s anti-fascist movement.
In 2022, he directed his first fiction short, Letizia.
In 2024, he made the documentary short A Missed Call during the Nouvelle Bug residency; the film was selected for 38th IDFA.
The same year, he directed Dream Now Revolution Tomorrow during the Locarno Spring Academy, premiering at the 77th Locarno Film Festival.
His short film Nero Argento premiered in competition at the 39th International Critics’ Week of the Venice Film Festival, winning the Best Director Award.
In 2025, he was selected for Berlinale Talents and joined the European Film Academy.
He is currently developing his first feature film, Brucia Di Vita, and writing a new short, 4.3 Kilometers, selected for the Berlinale Talents Lab 2026.
