On a quiet night in the outskirts of Milan, two teenagers return to the construction site where the older brother of one of them died. The discovery of a mysterious underground tunnel pulls them into a nocturnal odyssey through a Milan that feels both close and unreachable at the same time.
Momo, a second-generation teenager growing up on the outskirts of Milan, is struggling to cope with the death of his older brother Amir, killed while working on one of the construction sites reshaping their neighborhood through an ambitious urban regeneration project.
Consumed by grief and resentment, one night Momo and his best friend Tobia break into the site to vandalize it. Here, amid sand dunes and concrete pillars, they discover a mysterious tunnel leading towards the heart of the city.
When they emerge in Milan’s deserted centre, the two boys find themselves alone in a
dreamlike nocturnal world. Streets, monuments, empty restaurants: for one night the city seems entirely theirs, and the fantasy of claiming a place that has always felt out of reach suddenly feels real.
But as night turns to dawn, Momo begins to sense that something is wrong. What had started as an adventure soon turns into an unsettling journey, revealing a city where Momo and Tobia seem to have no future.
