Elza Gauja is doing her film direcBng master studies at the Latvian Academy of Culture and previously studied also acBng. Elza is currently finishing her two debut feature-length films as a director, co-writer and producer: the documentary feature ‘Meanwhile in Lucavsala’ (in post-producBon) and her feature dramedy 'Keep Smiling, Mom!’ (in post-producBon) — the la7er was just selected for Tallinn Black Nights Film FesBval 2021 (PÖFF) Works In Progress secBon. Elza has produced several short films, both documentaries and ficBon. Elza's documentary short ‘The Professor and Gena”, which she directed and produced, was just nominated for the Latvian NaBonal Film Prize ‘Lielais Kristaps’ at two categories.
