Annick Sheedy McLellan
Annick Sheedy McLellan’s love of storytelling blossomed at a very early age when she would force her parents’ invited dinner guests to watch her many theatrical productions. In 2021, she co-founded Gambade Films with Taras Lesiuk. Their first short film together, Flyer Boys, was acquired by CBC for national broadcast and received several awards including Audience Choice and Best Short Film at international film festivals. Their upcoming narrative feature project We Come From Here was selected for the prestigious MIDPOINT Queer Intensive Lab in 2023. In 2024, she co-directed her inaugural feature documentary Doors of War which has been on an international advocacy tour in partnership with Global Affairs Canada & was an official Preview Selection of National Canadian Film Day 2025. As a queer and chronically-ill creator, her ultimate goal is to create films and series that matter and to make people feel more united, more powerful and more celebrated.
