During the award ceremony on the evening of January 23, the HAVC & MIDPOINT Development Award, including the 3,000 EUR prize, was awarded to writer and director Kyrylo Zemlyanyi, along with producers Inna Lastochkina (Contemporary Ukrainian Cinema) and Nikolai Iarochenko (Les Steppes Productions) for their outstanding work on the project "Unavailable."

The award jury, comprised of Anamaria Antoci (producer/Tangaj Production, Romania), Una Gunjak (director, Bosnia & Herzegovina), and Bernd Buder (FilmFestival Cottbus, Germany), offered their commendation: "To a short film project that convinced us it will deliver a powerful study of character, in a situation that opens the viewers' imagination towards the feeling of possible loss."

This financial award sponsored by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre emphasizes the core objective of the program itself—to aid emerging talents in advancing their film projects.

Heartfelt congratulations to the winners and all the participants of the MIDPOINT Shorts 2023-2024 program!
