The residential (!!!) workshop MIDPOINT Writers‘ Room is held in a beautiful and quiet location near Prague, Czech Republic, allowing the participants to dive deep into the creative work within the writers‘ room simulation.
Six writers and two producers start their Writers' Room workshop
Selected writers will be, for the first time in the program’s history, joined by two observing producers interested in experiencing the creative atmosphere, processes and hierarchy inside the writers' room.
As main tutors of the program act writer, director and story editor/creative producer Giacomo Durzi from Italy and Swedish producer, director, screenwriter and novelist Michael Hjorth.
Within the four workshop days (October 18-21, 2021), the participants will also get the chance to attend several lectures, starting with Giacomo Durzi’s introductory talk Breaking into the writer's room. What is it and how does it work? Michael Hjorth will then discuss Pitching a second season, and guest tutor Maggie Murphy, joining the participants online from the US, will explore The Alpha and the Omega of pilot episodes.
