Gyula Gazdag is a director of film, theatre, and television productions. He has served as the Artistic Director of the Sundance Director‘s Lab since 1997. He was a creative advisor at the Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam for more than a decade and has worked with new talent at the Script Station of the Berlinale Talents since 2006. His films were screened at festivals in Cannes, Locarno and San Sebastian. Gazdag has also directed documentaries, and theather plays. Most of his films were banned for a period of time in Communist Hungary, and some were denied foreign exhibition. Gazdag was named one of the ten best film teachers in the United States by Daily Variety in 2010.
