The Palace
Standing on the top of banking, booze and hotel industry, the Fassbind family has created its name for some time already in Engelberg, a Swiss mountain town. Fassbind Jr., a man ahead of his time, cultured but kleptomaniac, is a humorous bon vivant who tirelessly pursues his great plan to make their hotel into a prestigious palace of the Alps. Junior surely has great and original ideas, but he has to face tremendous external factors such as the Spanish Flu, social injustice between two World Wars with the outbreak of the Second World War yet to come. While his personal life is torn apart by tragical deaths in his family, the survival of the Grand Hotel Palace remains his final and unbreakable dream in order to keep the business behind the family's respected name.
