Boogie Boogie

Kuba Kubikula (16), a bear tamer, travels from village to village with his bear Kubula (10), a little boy dressed as a bear. The inseparable pair travel along the river, hoping to see the real sea one day. At the end of winter, they accidentally get stuck in the villages of Wooden Spoons and Pots. A place where public performances and parties are forbidden. While Kubula has a chance to live a normal life and fit in with his peers, Kuba wants to continue his journey. Fearing that he will lose Kubula, he calls in the spook Barbuchu. Both of them think that Barbucha will make Kubula’s life miserable but the spook feeds on Kuba’s fear in reality. It grows the more the pair are drawn into the happenings in the village and the desire of the local children to have fun together. Both Kuba and Kubikula end up in prison, from which they eventually get out thanks to Barbucha. Together with the children they organise a carnival fair. Kuba realizes that Kubula has the right to his own life and family and leaves him with a heavy heart. He sets off to the sea alone, with his spook Barbucha.
