Sélin Van Laethem (°2001) is a Brussel-based writer and filmmaker who began her journey at KASK School of Arts in Ghent. She makes visual films that create atmospheric, unique worlds. Her work often contains a touch of playfulness, with a focus on the female point of view within cinema. Through immersive worlds, she wants to put emotional connection above explanation, inviting audiences to feel rather than just understand. Her graduation short film Fuga Del Gato was selected for multiple festivals including the Leuven International Short Film Festival, where it was nominated for the HUMO award.
