Liza Chakanava is a Belarusian director based in Prague. A former lawyer with a degree in International Law, she later moved to Prague to study film directing at FAMU, including a study stay at the Polish National Film School in Łódź. Her films were presented at Czech and international film festivals. Liza’s work explores themes of collective trauma and intergenerational conflict, often incorporating elements of fantasy and surrealism. Her debut has been supported by Belarusian Filmmakers' Network.
