Ilinca Manescu

Born on the 29th of August 1990.
She studied Medicine at University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in Bucharest.
In 2015 she started her residency in Medical Imaging, but in 2017 she suspended her learning program for two years.
In the meantime she attended the weekend writing workshops called “Creative Sundays” and published short stories in the online magazine called “Revista de povestiri”. She worked as a copywriter at McCann Erickson Bucharest for clients as Dedeman, Coca-Cola, Mega Image, Nestle, UniCredit Bank, Vodafone.
In 2018 Ilinca won a literary mentorship called “My first book” financed by the Friends for Friends Foundation where she wrote the first draft of her first novel guided by the two mentors, Marius Chivu and Florin Iaru. The book is still work in progress, but she already has an agreement with Nemira Publishing House and it’s due to be published next year. She had her first public reading from the manuscript this summer, at ShortsUp Film Festival, where she was invited as one of the finalists of the mentorship program.
In September this year she started studying Screenwriting and Film Studies in the National University of Theatre and Film “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest.
At the moment she’s a resident doctor and a film student. She’s looking forward to making a career in screenwriting and to making a living out of it.
