Dana Budisavljevic
Dana Budisavljević (1975) graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. She works as a film director and producer. Her directorial debut was the documentary Straight A’s , and she has gained popularity with a film on her coming out Family Meals. Her first feature, docu-drama The Diary of Diana B. (Hulahop, 2019) was cinema released in Croatia and exYU region with great success. It was awarded Grand Golden Arena at the Pula Film Festival, making her the first female director to receive the main festival award since 1957. The film also won Best Debut at Cottbus and several international awards. Dana is a founder and CEO of Hulahop production company based in Zagreb. Currently, she’s working on her new film Everything Bends Toward the Sun, has two shorts in the production pipeline - Closing Time by Sara Jurinčić (EFA nominee for Valerija, 2023) as well as fiction series Growing Up by awarded writer Espi Tomičić and director Sara Gregorić in the early development.
