The program is part of the internationally recognized MIDPOINT Feature Launch program, which supports writers and producers developing their first or second feature films.

Script Consultant Trainees will work directly with the projects selected for Feature Launch 2026, following them from early development through to their final presentations at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

A comprehensive training experience

The Script Consultant Trainee program provides participants with:

• Practical experience in giving constructive feedback

• Training to enhance communication and development skills

• Participation in both online and in-person workshops

• An opportunity to present themselves at the KVIFF pitching forum

Under the guidance of senior script consultants and a dedicated mentor, trainees will shadow the development process of Feature Launch projects and receive continuous feedback on their own progress.

Program structure and venues

The training spans the entire year and includes a blend of online and residential workshops:

• Online Preparatory Seminar: February/March 2026

• Workshop 1: March 15–21, 2026 | Prague, Czech Republic

• Online Consultations: April–June 2026

• Workshop 2 + Works in Development: July 1–8, 2026 | Prague & Karlovy Vary IFF

• Workshop 3: September 21–27, 2026 | Pilsen, Czech Republic (in collaboration with Finále Plzeň Festival)

The working language of the program is English.

Participation details

The participation fee is 1,800 EUR per trainee, covering tuition, accommodation, and board during workshops. Partial scholarships are available.
