Two buckets of water is a short story based on Saki’s short novel: Sredni Vashtar.In today’s Hungary there are places still existing under the circumstances of a 19th century village. No water, no electricity just the solitude of lost souls trying to survive. With no chance to break out, devastated in the middle of nowhere, in the great Hungarian plains, resigned to the situation.Laszlo is a farmer, with the lack of energy or willingness to work on his farm. He cuts trees and sells them eventually but mainly spends his days drinking. Waiting for passing away.Viktor is a young, slightly retarded man who has a special connection with nature. He is Laszlo’s nephew, living with Laszlo since his parents died.Laszlo takes advantage of the situation. In his bitterness, Viktor is the only one whom he can conquer. Viktor obeys Laszlo, serving all his wishes, because of fearness. His only friend is Ambrus, the horse his working together with. One day, Laszlo sells Ambrus. Viktor asks for help desperately, not knowing that he has way more power than he thought.The film is a short film planned to be 15-20 minutes long.
