The Swimming Pool
When wildfires drain a Provence pool, a Polish woman's forty-year dream evaporates - forcing her family to finally face the truth: you can't keep swimming in emptiness.
Beata (65) returns to Provence, haunted by the life she left behind when, at twenty, a pregnancy brought her back to Poland. Forty years later, her daughter Aneta's (43) engagement celebration forces the family to confront their compromises. As forest fires approach and helicopters drain the pool Beata has been dreaming of, the avoidance is over. When her husband climbs into the empty pool and mimes swimming, absurdity becomes their salvation: a family finally honest enough to be ridiculous together.
