The Bala Incident

When an explosion tears through a protest in the picturesque town of Bala in north Wales, residents find themselves at the centre of a mystery that threatens to tear their community apart. But what begins as a mystery turns into something stranger when the blast evokes an incident from 1974 in what is known as the “Welsh Roswell.”

Ammar Rashid, an emotionally guarded London journalist expects a routine story. Instead, he finds a place where myths are alive, and the past is not forgotten. Lowri Jones is a local National Park warden. She resists theories that an alien lives among them. But as the coincidences mount, even she begins to question what she thought she understood about her town.

The Bala Incident begins as an atmospheric mystery that evolves into a grounded sci-fi series. Set in the haunting landscapes of North Wales and told in both Welsh and English, the series explores how fear spreads and how far can you push a community before it breaks.
