OUTLOUD
After a teen is outed by a viral TikTok, he and his closeted uncle confront online hate, family shame, and a buried secret that could break their silence for good.
OUTLOUD is a 4-part limited drama thriller about queer visibility turned into a public weapon.
When 17-year-old Ismail is outed by a viral TikTok, his private life explodes into public crisis. Harassment escalates into doxxing, his family is pushed into panic, and every attempt to protect him risks silencing him again.
At the center is his uncle Marouan, a man who has survived through discretion and self-erasure. As Ismail refuses to disappear, Marouan is forced to confront unresolved trauma and a family secret tied to his father's death.
The series follows two linked journeys: a younger generation fighting for agency in a hostile digital arena, and an older generation shaped by fear, reputation, and concealment. Set in a contemporary Dutch-Moroccan context, OUTLOUD combines social suspense and intimate family drama to ask: when visibility can be weaponized, what does it take to speak anyway?
