Angelina and Zoran Kovach live a comfortable, quiet and seemingly happy upper-middle-class life. In their late-sixties, both are slowly pulling out of their real estate business, leaving it in the hands of their children. It’s time for retirement. Cocktails, Mediterranean cruises and spending time with their grandchildren. Instead, Angelina decides that she wants a divorce.
Having witnessed some high-profile gray divorces such as Bill and Melinda Gates’ one, the previously reserved, unassuming Angelina has decided that she doesn’t want to spend what’s left of her life in a loveless, dreary marriage. Zoran reluctantly agrees, hoping it’s just a late-life crisis that will pass and thinking he’s better off letting his wife see for herself that the grass isn’t greener on the other side.
