Vinamra Pancharia
I am a writer and director drawn to character driven storytelling, developing stories from the page outward and carrying the writing into direction as a natural extension of emotion and performance. Over the past decade, I have written and directed 25 short films exploring identity, moral conflict, social realities, and intimate human relationships.
I worked as Associate Director on the feature film Joram, contributing to script development and character work, while also writing and composing three original songs for the film. I am currently developing a short form episodic series under the mentorship of Shekhar Kapur and co writing a feature film.
My work has received recognition at Cannes Film Festival, Sony Picture This Festival LA, Mobile Film Festival Paris, and Kala Ghoda Arts Festival. I was selected for the Film Independent and NFDC Series Writers Lab, and was part of the International Visitor Leadership Program in the United States focused on film as a medium of social change.
