Urška Sajko was born in 1990 in Ljubljana. In 2010, she enrolled at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television. She completed her undergraduate studies in dramaturgy and performing arts in 2015. In 2018, she earned her master’s degree in screenwriting. In 2021, the Slovenian Film Centre awarded her funding for the development of a feature film screenplay titled Super Serious. In 2022, this project was accepted into Scenarnica. In 2025, Super Serious got resources for project development. In 2024, she wrote a screenplay for a short animated film, Mrs Monster (directed by Sofiya Kruglikova). The project received production funding the same year and was accepted into Rise&Shine Pitching Contest, as well as the Short Film Market at Clermont ISFF. In 2025, she worked as a script doctor on the short animated film Witches by Croatian animator Dora Pejić Bach. In the same year, Urška’s screenplay for a short stop-motion titled Kitchen Appliances received development funding.
