Ivan Veljaca

Ivan Veljača was born in 1984. in Zagreb. Even before graduating at the faculty of Architecture with a master’s degree in Product design he starts working in the art department building his way up towards designing a large amount of both local and foreign movies and TV shows, some of which are the award winning These are the rules by O. Sviličić, Murina by A. Kusijanović and The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent by N. Slijepčević.  He writes and directs, too, and has two short films to his name, Polenta and At the Table. He works as an artistic associate professor at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb where he teaches both “Production Design” and “Production Design for Directors”. On every project, he strives to connect every creative process towards a result that makes the stories more convincing, the characters more lifelike, and the feeling as strong and clear as possible, while striving to give every detail a visual quality of their own.
