Oleksandr Roshchyn
Oleksandr studied cinematography at the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television named after I.K. Karpenko-Kariy. In 2011 he debuted as a cinematographer with the short film "Haydamaka" at the National Feature Film Studio named after Oleksandr Dovzhenko. Since then, he has been working in film production as a cinematographer. The feature film “Stop Zemlia” lensed by Oleksandr premiered at the 2021 Berlin International Film Festival and won the main "Crystal Bear" award from the Youth Jury. The short film "In joy" received the highest award of the two largest Ukrainian film festivals - Odesa in 2018 and the film festival "Youth" in 2019.
During the years of full scale war Oleksandr has developed his own ideas and shot his director’s fiction short film debut named “On a stringer” and is developing his debut feature film “Mamayi”. He is a member of the Ukrainian Film Academy.
