Bloody Bay

GREGORY and KATE (50-ish) have wildly different marriage-saving ideas. He's hell-bent on sailing before his heart gives out; she's desperate for a baby. When IVF fails, Kate begs their best friend MARTA—Gregory's ex, once-celebrated filmmaker—for frozen eggs. Kate presents Marta’s misguided generosity to Gregory as “anonymous donor”. Meanwhile, Gregory sells their family home for a catamaran, but oh shit—Kate's pregnant.

Nine months on: having blown her last job, Marta joins them aboard "Plan B". Her partner MARTIN—an incurable romantic — arrives fresh from a questionable farming disaster. And so does baby ZEUS. Two couples attempt life afloat, ruled by Zeus and loaded with an explosive secret.

Maiden voyage promises salvation—but Gregory's debilitatingly seasick. A collision with an expensive yacht settles it: they’re stranded in the tourist-trap dry dock of a small French island. Weeks of confined hell in hotter weather and skimpier clothes, and Martin's jealousy detonates the secret. Kate tries to remain on a moral high horse. Gregory's heart fails mid- Zoom. And Marta sells their collective misery as her artistic comeback.

Technically seaworthy but emotionally shipwrecked, the quartet discovers growth at fifty is possible—but catastrophically undignified.
