Before Take-Off

Before taking off is a story about adolescence of eighteen – year - old Žofia, who, on her journey from childhood to adulthood, experiences a series of situations, which are a suffering for her, but it could be amusement for the viewers. The story oscillates between a psychological drama and comedy, even crazy - comedy. This mixture of genres derives from the main character; Žofia is one paradox. An „old soul“, deeply understanding human nature, but almost infant in her social situations, unable to interact with other people in a satisfactory manner. Capable of humour and irony, but too sensible and self – focused at the same time. Very emotional, strongly desiring to meet and love people, but too reserved because of her all - controlling reason. Pretty neurotic – in one word - „Woody Allen in a skirts“. (excerpt)
