NORBERT (35) agrees to train her despite of prejudices against Roma. After initial struggles with hereditary poverty, Annamaria wins the
National Championship. But envy follows succes and her family is evicted from their home. Annamaria falls in love with a local Roma boy. When Norbert finally realizes he is responsible for her on and off track, it is too late. She is pregnant. Norbert tries to help, but is overpowered by her family and the media that follow her every step. Annamaria has a miscarriage and withdraws contact. But he keeps on hoping to train her once again.
