Sveinbjorn Baldvinsson

Sveinbjörn Baldvinsson has worked as a screenwriter in Denmark and the US as well as in his native Iceland. He has also been a teacher of the craft at various workshops in Europe. The thriller FOXTROT (1988), a commercial success, was the first Icelandic feature to sell world rights in a single deal. The drama TEARS OF STONE (1995) won several international prizes and was Iceland’s entry to the Oscars. Baldvinsson was part of the first wave of the new Danish TV Drama, working on such series as TAXA (1998) and FORSVAR (2003). Recently he has concentrated on his own original mini-series. THE CLIFF (2009) and THE LAVA FIELD (2014) have travelled widely in Europe. A published author of several books of poetry and prose, he has been Head of Screenwriting at The Norwegian Filmschool since 2009.
