Stefan Arsenijevic

Born in Belgrade in 1977. Graduated Film and Television Directing from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, where he now teaches film directing at the Master studies. For his short films, in particular (A)Torsion (2003), he won over 30 national and international awards, including Golden Bear at Berlinale, The European Film Award and Academy Award (Oscar) nomination for short live action film. He was part of an international omnibus (episode) film Lost and Found (2005), a film project for which six young filmmakers from Central and Eastern Europe have each developed a short film on the theme of "generation". Arsenijević directed an episode Fabolous Vera, while other have been directed by Christian Mungiu, Kornel Mundruczo, Jasmila Žbanić, Nadejda Koseva and Mait Laas. His first feature Love and Other Crimes (2008) premiered at Berlinale in 2008 and won several awards at the international festivals. Since 2015 also program manager of FIRST FILMS FIRST, Goethe Institute’s professional training program for Southeast European film directors.
