Sonia Pérez is a development producer with a solid background in unscripted formats who is now exploring fiction, especially stories inspired by the emotional dynamics of reality TV. Over the past year, she has worked with screenwriters in Cuarzo’s fiction area, currently taking its first steps with a few early developments, creating and pitching series ideas, including a scripted thriller based on Temptation Island. Sonia has experience in research and development, unscripted format creation and international development, and has been part of the Spanish adaptations of Survivor and Temptation Island. She has also contributed to global platform projects such as Netflix’s Deep Fake Love and Where Is Marta?, as well as HBO’s true crime documentary Sancho. She is now beginning to apply what she has learned about story flow, tension and character behaviour to scripted projects.
