Oliver Schütte is a specialist in storytelling. He has been working as a writer for film and television since 1986 and as a Script Consultant since 1990. He received the German Screenplay Award in 1988 for his first screenplay, "Koan".
In 1995, he founded the Master School Drehbuch, a continuing education institution, which he headed until the end of 2008. In 1995, he also began his extensive teaching career in Germany and abroad. For seven years now, he has been head of SerienLab, a nine-month writers' workshop for high-quality fictional series. Since 2022, he has been working intensively on AI and its possible applications for writers. In 2023, he published the book "AI and the Art of Storytelling" and has since been giving regular international lectures and workshops on this topic.
Today, he works as a script consultant, lecturer at international film schools, publicist, and author.
He is a founding member of the German Film Academy.
