Lorine Plagnol founded Sungazer in 2018, producing her first short with BBC in 2020. Sungazer aims to support talents from historically underrepresented groups - both on and oƯ screen - believing in the power of storytelling to create change. Lorine is a BFI Insight Vision Awardee, was longlisted for a BIFA as a Breakthrough Producer and is a BIFA Springboard alumni. Collaborating regularly with Film4 and BBC Film, her first feature documentary DALTON’S DREAM was acquired by Storyville and her latest short, AREA BOY lead a successful festival run premiering at the Venice Biennale in 2023 and earning a Honourable Mention at BFI LFF and a Best Live-Action Short Film Award at SBIFF. Lorine is also evolving in the TV space, having produced the hybrid miniseries LIFE IN LOVE (2022) for ITV. Sungazer is a recipient of the BBC Small Indie Fund and currently developing a slate of first features with exciting new international talents.
