Franziska Pohlmann is a German writer, director and composer. She directed a staged reading of part four of the NSU trial protocols for SZ Magazin, featuring Sandra Hüller and Ulrich Matthes, and episodes of Schloss Einstein (KiKA/MDR), Germany's longest-running youth drama series. She is developing the Copenhagen-set dramedy series Bitchcoins & Babies and the hopepunk YA series Hidden University – Ein Pakt gegen die Ohnmacht. As a PhD candidate at Leuphana University, her research "Designing Desirable Futures" explores how storytelling in film and TV shapes our imagination of possible futures. She recently completed the BVR WILD@HEART pitching programme with UFA producer Oliver Ossege. She served on the board of the German Directors Guild (BVR) and composes for orchestra, with credits including Filmorchester Babelsberg.
