Generative AI is transforming the ways we develop, produce, and present audiovisual content. Understanding its possibilities — and learning how to use AI tools responsibly and effectively — is becoming a key part of the professional skillset in the film and series industry.

MIDPOINT Focus AI is a hands-on workshop designed to help audiovisual professionals explore the potential of AI through practical exercises and guided experimentation. Participants will gain concrete tools and insights for integrating AI into their creative and production workflows — always with a strong focus on maintaining the value of human creativity.

The workshop is led by Gerhard Maier (Seriencamp), in collaboration with a team of expert contributors from the AI and creative industries.

Throughout the training, participants will:

• Gain a clear understanding of the current landscape of Generative AI tools and their ethical implications

• Prototype and test AI-supported workflows through collaborative hackathons and practical exercises

• Build a personalized AI toolkit with ready-to-use prompts, workflows, and creative strategies

• Apply AI tools to real-life industry tasks such as audience design, writers’ room collaboration, grant writing, pitch deck enhancement, and more

• Experiment with AI tools directly on their own project materials, supported by expert feedback

Who can apply:

• Producers, screenwriters, and representatives of film institutions and cultural organizations

• Beginners with basic familiarity with AI tools (no advanced technical background required)
