Nataša Vugrinec is a Slovenian film and television producer and co-director of Studio Virc. She entered the industry after a career in advertising as an art director and graphic designer, bringing to film production a strong visual sensibility and organizational expertise. Since 2019, she has grown from line producer to lead producer, handling international co-productions supported by Creative Europe MEDIA, Eurimages, the Slovenian Film Centre, CNC France, the Finnish Film Foundation, and others. Her producing credits span feature fiction, documentary and animation, including award-winning films that have travelled widely on the festival circuit. Studio Virc’s projects under her management include Granny’s Sexual Life (European Film Award 2022, César Award 2023), Woman of God (Hot Docs Toronto 2024, Audience Award ZagrebDox 2025, three awards at the Slovenian film festival 2023), and The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent (Palme d’Or at Cannes 2024, EFA and César awards, Oscar nomination 2025). She also contributed to co-productions such as Last Shadow at First Light (San Sebastian 2023) Currently she is delegate producer of Tartufferies, a feature film by Igor Šterk in production, supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC), the Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund, the Croatian Audiovisual Centre and the Slovenian Film Centre. A graduate of the CineLink Producers’ Lab, Rise & Shine Animation Lab, and other international training programs, she is a member of the Association of Slovenian Producers. With Taste of Snow, Vugrinec continues her commitment to stories that connect Slovenian and wider Central European identity with a global audience.
