Katja Colja, director and screenwriter of films and TV series. Native Slovenian born in Trieste, after completing her university studies she devoted herself to directing and photography, worked for RAI, moved to Rome where she collaborated with Vittorio and Paolo Taviani and worked for RAI and independent productions. She made numerous documentaries and short films and has written several screenplays including Once Upon a Time in the City of Madmen. Igor and Rosa was her first feature film that received numerous awards and recognitions. It was selected for several festivals, including Competition programme at Shanghai International Film Festival (2019), the Festival du Film Italien du Villerupt (2019), BiFest in Bari (2019), Laceno d’Oro and the Porretta Terme Film Festival (2020) as well as the Nice Film Festival and St. Petersburg in 2021.
