Program Coordinator Junior
Alexandra Gabrižová works as a festival distributor, journalist and curator with major activities connected with short film format. She is a graduate of Audiovisual Studies at Film and Television Faculty, Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where she has been working as a head of Festival department during 2016-2021.
Alexandra co-founded Disco Sailing agency which covers festival distribution of Slovak films to help them target the right spots on the international market and organizes events to promote short films. As a student, she was the assistant editor-in-chief of PORT N.21, a contemporary photography magazine, and later of Kinečko film magazine where she still acts as a part of the redaction circle. Her freelance journalist portfolio includes Film New Europe with focus on film industry of CEE countries.
She currently works for MIDPOINT Institute based in Prague as a program coordinator of the Smash Cut program, focused on short-form series in development. Alexandra also leads her course Festival strategies at Film and Television Faculty VSMU and is a member of stipend committees at Slovak Audiovisual Fund and Bratislava City Fund.
