Nino Chichua is a film producer and co-founder of 1991 Productions, a film production and production services company based between Tbilisi and London. Her interest lies in bold, director-driven fiction and documentary films from diverse cultural perspectives. Alongside a strong track record of festival success and leading cross-border co-productions, she takes pride in offering high-end, all-inclusive production services to international crews shooting in Georgia.
Her most recent film, TEAR GAS by Uta Beria, premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival 2026 in the Cineasti del Presente competition, where it received the Independent Junior Jury Award for Best Film. QUELQUES INSTANTS DE BONHEUR (A Few Moments of Happiness), a short documentary by Shaden Safieddine Tazi, premieres in the Orizzonti Short Films Competition at the 83rd Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica in Venice.
Nino also co-produced CROSSING by Levan Akin, which opened Berlinale Panorama 2024 and won the Teddy Jury Award. She produced the documentaries 9-MONTH CONTRACT (2025), winner of the Human:Rights Award at CPH:DOX, and SMILING GEORGIA (2023), which premiered at Karlovy Vary IFF.
