Nika Jurman
Nika Jurman (1991) is a Slovene screenwriter and director with a background in philosophy, literature, and film criticism. She co-wrote the successful comedy series Paired Up (2015–2017), a milestone in Slovenian TV originals. In 2017, she began writing her first feature film, Ida Who Sang So Badly Even the Dead Rose Up and Joined Her in Song, which will premiere this year. With the same project, she participated in the Midpoint Feature Launch 2020. In 2022, she wrote, directed, and produced the animated short Borbike, which won Best Animation and Best Independent Film at the Slovenian Film Festival. Currently, Nika is in post-production on her comedy short Little House (developed during Midpoint Shorts 2023-2024). Her main focus is writing the Borbike animated series, supported by the Slovenian Film Centre and currently in the script development phase
